How important are your photographs?

The fact that I am a photographer should make it easy to guess what my answer is to that question above.  But even still, sometimes I can not fully understand & appreciate how important they are until a situation comes about to remind me.  My Grandmother passed away yesterday morning in Chicago, and on our last visit to see her in September I made her pull out her giant suit-box of photographs.  Little did I know how much it would mean to have her go through them with me, get them labeled, and she even let me take some home to get scanned and preserved.  There are some images of my Grandmother’s Grandmother — yes, you read that right!  All this time just sitting in a cardboard box waiting to be rediscovered.  I have created a DVD for my Mother and Aunts — and I had to share a few of the images that I scanned here.  I will be heading to Chicago to be with my family tomorrow returning on Friday.  Thank you to my wonderful clients for your complete understanding to reschedule — and enjoy a glimpse of the past…and continue to treasure your photographs because they will be appreciated for more years than you know!
