Lainey | Newborn Session

There is a new sweet little girl that’s just joined the First Year Program!!  And if you remember Hadley from her latest photos, then you will definitely see some similarities with her and her baby sister Lainey!  Hadley is talking up a storm, and helping Mom & Dad with the new baby.  By helping, I mean laying out all sorts of blankets for everyone to take naps on… :)  Lainey was pretty laid back for her photos, and I cannot wait to capture her over the next 12-months!

Josie | 9-Month Session

Oh Miss Josie — you really weren’t sure about all of the adults looking at you, making weird noises.  I would love to see what Mom, Dad and myself all looked like from YOUR angle! :)  But persistence and a little singing made you smile so big.  It was lovely!  As I look outside and see snow on the ground, I can hardly believe this was just a few days ago…silly Kansas!

Hannah & Kyle | Wedding Day

Talk about ending my 2012 weddings with a bang…Hannah & Kyle’s day was incredible!!
First of all, they predicted rain/thunderstorms all week long — but I just knew I had to have a series of plans!  I scouted Lawrence and KU-campus for all of the places that were covered that I could find…not to mention there was a home football game happening that day.  But I was prepared for everything!

So the rain arrived, the thunder, and storm clouds, but it all did not matter.  Smiles were everywhere, and we were set with Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C!  :)  The guys had brunch right next door to where the girls were getting ready, so I popped in for a couple images there.  Then it was off to hair/make-up/nails with the girls.  During pictures it even decided to stop raining for us!  I still used most of the spots that were covered just in case, but we had a blast walking around just enjoying the day.  Their party was a huge bash, and the best man’s toast ended with him talking like Master Splinter (of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame) and I will never forget it.

Jill & Jamison | Wedding Day!

There was something with rain, and the last three weddings I photographed — it always threatened, maybe showed-up for a little while, but managed to part in time for photographs.  How did we all get so lucky!?

Jill & Jamison’s day started downtown with rain tapping on the hotel-windows, and lots of thick clouds.  I told her not to worry, as I had an indoor option for photos planned just in case, and a great spot for their First Moment inside the Clubhouse on Baltimore.  It was a room I’d never seen before, and it almost felt like stepping back in time.  They had a perfectly-sweet First Moment, and off we went around the city for photos.  The rain was mostly gone, and the sun even arrived for a little while!  They had an intimate ceremony & reception, where the toasts were very heartfelt & hilarious.  These two are surrounded by people who care a great deal for them…and it shows.  I couldn’t have been happier when asked to capture the two of them, and I cannot wait to share their images with them (since I know they have WiFi on the honeymoon)… :)

Ashley & Michael | Wedding Day!

It didn’t seem like that much time had passed since my last trip to Great Bend, KS (for Ashley & Steve’s wedding) — but now it was Ashley R’s turn to be the bride!  note: she was a bridesmaid for Ashley & Steve!

The morning started off a little overcast, but it appeared to be moving away from us.  The girls got ready, Ashley & Michael shared a sweet First Moment, and the ceremony began.  When it was time for the exit, the sun was out and shining!  Perfect for their convertible-exit… :)   After getting the wedding party to our first spot, I position the bride and groom and suddenly the sky opened up on us.  It was insane!  I handed them an umbrella, and after a few moments we took cover to wait it out.  It only took a few moments, and after that spot was completed Michael swooped Ashley off her feet and carried her back to the bus…it was awesome!  Michael works for the railroad company, so we had to include the trains/train-tracks out there.  Very fitting!  They celebrated well into the night, and it was a super-fun day.  I know she is sitting at her computer right now just waiting to see…so let’s get on with pictures!
