My Niece is getting married!  My Niece is getting married!!  Courtney and Nick have been together for a long time…a VERY LONG TIME.  In fact, when they are married this November it will be ON their 10-year anniversary!  High school sweethearts, best friends, and long-time companions.  I just love these two, and couldn’t be more excited for them.  We met out at the park where I took Nick’s senior pictures (wow, really?!) and had a great time.  We used bubbles, a bright picture-frame, and Courtney had some fun ideas for her Save-the-Date.  It was such a blast, and I cannot wait to be a guest for their big day.  LOVE you two!

Pretty pictures always make for a happy Monday, right?
This session was everything that I love about engagement sessions.  Just relaxed, hanging out around some gorgeous nature, and two people who are very much in love.  Nicole and Kevin are getting married next June, and after this session I just know it’s going to be a GORGEOUS event!  The weather was a bit overcast which made for PERFECT light, and Nicole has some killer style.  Her boots made me swoon!  Cannot wait for you to see all of these Nicole!

How awesome is it that we got to start this engagement session at the K?!?  Sara and Adam are getting married next June, and I couldn’t be more excited for them.  Sara actually came along and helped me shoot a wedding at the end of last year, as she is a photographer as well!  She is getting her business up-and-running, planning a wedding, AND working full-time to boot.  BUSY BUSY!  I know that she is clicking refresh over and over on the blog waiting for this to post.  So on with the images!

Photography is something that has allowed me to reconnect with people, that I might not have otherwise.  Facebook makes it easy to “see” what people from your past are up to, but when you are asked to photograph them it means actually having conversation, and learning MORE about what those people are up to!  When Lauren contacted me, she mentioned that her fiance was Ryan, with whom I had attended high school with!  And of course when the two of them walked up Ryan hadn’t changed a bit.  How amazing it is!  And the way they hug one another tight, and look at each other with pure adoration is truly beautiful.  I cannot wait for their intimate wedding in September!

The session began sunny and bright, and over the course of an hour some dark and looming clouds rolled in.  While Hannah was a little worried, I was excited.  Why?  Because it meant that I could break-out the powerful flash I have in the trunk, and create some unique images of them in the wide-open field.  LOVED it…and I had a blast with these guys.  They snuggled, laughed, and gave me some great “game” faces…I cannot wait for their wedding day!  Right as we started to drive away, that’s when the droplets began — perfect timing!
