The first afternoon we had this shoot scheduled for — rain decided to come along and ruin our parade…
But these two were totally understanding, and we found a much better day for their engagement session!  I drove them around to random spots all over South-Olathe, and we ended the session with a trip to Dairy Queen (since they enjoy ice cream so much)!  They even treated me to my own dip-cone — which we had to eat super fast in the warm outdoor temps resulting in some major brain-freeze.  Phyllis even posted to her Facebook “I never knew taking engagement pictures could be so fun!” — and that made my day!

Christine and Alex are a couple that have wonderful chemistry together.  As soon as you see them with one another, you just know that they are meant to be!  They have been together for about 7 years now, and they are both anxious to finish school (Christine - Optometry, Alex - Dental) to begin their lives together as husband and wife.  These two had complete trust in me for some fun locations, and even brought along their furry-child Cooper!  I cannot wait for their wedding next June…

It makes a session that much better, when we can include a location that is special to a couple.  When Cassi suggested we have their session out on her families land — I was all for it!  It was a Sunday, and just like weekly tradition the house was buzzing with family and friends.  A ton of open land, old barns, and a bridge older than anyone knew…it was a photographer’s dream!  Not to mention when I walked by one shed, I happen to see a blue vintage truck that HAD to be a part of the shoot…
In the slideshow you will see we had a teeny-tiny audience with a member of the animal kingdom — so he had to be included!

I love this shot — because this is something they do all the time.  Rumor has it the “tongue fight” has led to some head-banging, since it is a competition who can do it first!

I am all about incorporating things into an e-session that have meaning to the couple in front of my camera.  Even if that something is a small rock…that possibly had something to do with how Robert proposed to Alison…which is a sweet & simple reminder of that pivotal day in their lives.  Want to hear the story?  You will have to ask them… :)  Thank you both for trusting me — it was truly wonderful working with you, and I cannot wait for the wedding!

I absolutely love when a couple can easily make one another laugh…constantly!
Kara and Jeff have to be one of the best at it, as they were laughing and making ME laugh right along with them!  And when Jeff’s Bacon-Wallet was casually mentioned in conversation, I had to get a shot of it.  :)  We did a little  bit of nature, then a little bit of urban, and I seriously had a blast with these guys.  I cannot wait for your wedding!
