Julia + Jimmy | E-Session

I love when my clients are brave, and unafraid of the elements…especially when it comes to snow.  I had the pleasure of meeting up with Julia and Jimmy for their session out at Loose Park — where Jimmy asked Julia to marry him!  It was cold, and we walked through a LOT of snow (not to mention some other things) and had lots of laughs.  It is so much fun to just watch these two smile at one another — they are definitely meant to be!  I even love the “rivalry” of the colleges, that Jimmy really wanted included at the end of the session — please note the t-shirts.  :)  Enjoy their slideshow here and I cannot wait for their wedding day!

Max’s proposal to Hannah

I posted a sneak image…and now it is time for the full story!

I met Max five or so years ago, when I photographed his High School Senior pictures.  I was new to digital back then, but I remember he was a lot of fun and easy-going.  So imagine my surprise when I receive an e-mail from him in September, telling me he had a wonderful plan to propose to his girlfriend Hannah.  That includes pictures!  Of course I was all for it — and so excited for him.  So we set a date, and waited as the weeks went by.  Then Hannah had a dance-conflict come up, so we had to switch the date…no big deal, but Max was bursting at the seams for this day to arrive!

It was finally time…and the temperatures took a major plummet.  Like 12 degrees for the HIGH that day!  Not to mention the snow.  I contacted Max, asking if he wanted to wait for the weather to be a bit nicer, but I should have known better… :)  We started the session just as any other…I took them to a couple of spots that I love (really quick because it was freezing) and then we  jumped into my car for the final location.  We had planned the magic words I was to say — “Let’s do my favorite photo right now…” –  and he started a very special speech as she realized what was happening.  It was an amazing moment, that I was honored to be a part of.  We took a few more images, and then they were off to call friends and family to share in the good news!

Enjoy the slideshow you two — and thank you for being so amazing out there in the snow and cold for me.  I kept the images in order so you can see which images are before and which are after the Big Moment!

PS:  Max had the ring a bit too small — but thanks to that cold, Hannah was able to fit it on her finger for the rest of the images!! :)

Rosa + Andy | E-Session

It is hard for me to believe that Rosa was one of my first Seniors — ever.  I was just figuring out my 35mm camera, and discovering what would become my livelihood many years down the road.  :)  She trusted me back then, and now that she is engaged to Andy she was ready to trust me once more for her wedding and engagement images!  I actually got to meet up with them last ski season in Canada (Whistler) for some snow and laughs…they are a great match.  They were in town the week of Thanksgiving, so I knew it would be ideal to drive them to some little places I had seen just driving around my own home!  Some of my favorites of the year in this bunch…enjoy the SLIDESHOW!

What did you do today?

I was outside in the 14-degrees — with Max as he surprised Hannah and asked her to be his wife.

Ashley + Steve | E-Session

On a beautiful November day, I met Ashley and Steve out in Lawrence for their engagement session.  They were super excited, and that energy led us to have some major fun on campus!  The leaves were bright, the sun was shining, and these two put all of their trust in me.  I cannot thank you enough!  We found a random Vespa, and I put them in a field of nature right off the side of the road that turned into my favorite image of the session.  Thank you both so much — and I cannot wait for you to finally be living in the same city together! :)  Enjoy the slideshow set to their selected song hererpeters_ashleysteve_001rpeters_ashleysteve_002rpeters_ashleysteve_003rpeters_ashleysteve_004rpeters_ashleysteve_005rpeters_ashleysteve_006!
