just because…

i have been shooting many many portraits…and sometimes a girl just needs to pull her car off the side of the highway, and capture something ‘because’…

rpeters_fall2009_0001rpeters_fall2009_0002rpeters_fall2009_0003rpeters_fall2009_0004which is your favorite and why?  no deep, hidden meanings to any of these images…just all in good fun :)

I love the red leaves! Fall’s changing red leaves are my favorite, b/c they are the most intense before everything turns all dead and drab.

  2. Betsy

They are all stunning! I love the sky in the corn field the best…there aren’t many corn fields where I’m from:)

  3. Jenn

I love the first two. The first one because this fall has been AMAZING for colors, and I didn’t get enough pictures taken. The second because I love the contrast between the dying stalks and the bright sky.

Gotta have friends!

Filed under: PhotoGirls, RandomingsSeptember 28th, 2009

The photography industry is so unique (to say the least) — and part of what I love is the friendship and camaraderie.  I know you are all aware of the Photogirls, since we gather each and every year to get away, yet motivate one another to do more in our lives and businesses.  Well two of my gals have some KEWL things going on that I wanted to share!

1.  Maile of Relish Photography
If you don’t already read her blog — go out there and add her to your Reader!  She has just released a major project that has been in the works for the past two years.  A brand spankin’ new camera bag that has STYLE all over it.  I am thinking perhaps she should design bags in general, no?  They are just incredible, and I cannot wait to get my hands on one!  Read more about them at her blog post here.  And check out the first images she shared with us PGs!

2.  Brooke Mayo
Who can ever forget the sweetest girl in the South, Brookie!  She is releasing her first ever BOOK — featuring her amazing images of doggies underwater.  If you or someone you know loves dogs this would make a great gift.  Here is a little bit more  about the book, straight from the artist!

We are sooo super duper excited to announce that autographed, first editions of our new book, “Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Play Underwater” are now available for pre-order!  They are $29.95 and will ship in 6-9 weeks.

Each dog has a story to tell, and you’ll get to know them through the pages of this book. They are inspiring and funny, and may tempt you to get to know your doggie friend in a way you never have before. They’ve certainly changed the direction of my life and allowed me to explore my creativity behind the lens I never dreamed of.

It is my hope that you will find comfort and joy with Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Play Underwater. My book is a celebration of our best friends. –Brooke Mayo
