2008 | Wedding Favorites!

I had to compile a slideshow of my favorite image and detail from all the weddings I documented in 2008.  You will notice a LOT of shoe shots…I cannot help it!  I am going to TRY and do a portrait one as well, but there are hundreds of those!  Everyone have a safe and Happy New Year tonight!! :)

Jessica and Ryan’s Wedding Day!

My final wedding of 2008 was the last weekend of November…and what an amazing wedding to end on!  As I drove that morning to Topeka, it was looking like a total downpour of rain was headed our way, not to mention it was the coldest day so far.  But when I walked into the amazing church and saw Jessica and her girls, I knew nothing would stop the joy she was feeling!  The overcast was great for me, and the girls in their strapless dresses were SO amazing for me in the drizzle and cold.  At the end I made the guys give them their jackets to wear for some pictures, and they were EXTRA happy… :)
These two saw one another before the ceremony, so we could have ALL family images done and wrapped up.  It was a GREAT moment — see the slideshow for more!

Ryan is a baseball player, so they had the great idea to do an exit under some awesome Louisville Sluggers!  I made the wedding party take them on the bus for pictures too, since they were so unique to them!
The whole crew WORKED it for me…again, in the uber-cold and drizzle.  Who knew that guys liked flowers so much anyways!
GORGEOUS!
Ryan’s parents own a bar downtown, so we had to make a pit-stop there to celebrate the couple on the stage…
On to the reception, where the DJ played a game where the couple responded by lifting the correct shoe in the air…great fun!
Finally on to the Mock Wedding.  It is a tradition in Ryan’s family to have a “mock” wedding where the essentially toast/make-fun-of the couple.  The guys dress as girls and vice-versa, and act out an exaggerated scene that was absolutely hysterical.  This couple actually met in Hawaii, even though they both lived/grew up just a few miles apart in Kansas!  One picture here, but lots more in the BLOG SHOW RIGHT HERE!

Jenni + Jeffrey’s Wedding Day!

On a cold November Saturday, Jenni and Jeffrey committed themselves and their hearts to one another — and I could not have been happier to capture their day.  Jenni wanted a Romantic feel to her wedding and details, and she created it perfectly.  Her lace bolero was classic — and she braved the cold-cold day for some amazing Fall images.  The whole wedding party did AMAZING, and you have to watch the slideshow to see what I made the guys do (since one of them actually suggested that was his best side — you know who you are).  The decor at the Lodge of Ironwoods was flawless, and the flowers by Bella Design Studio…well, see the images below and the BLOG SHOW HERE!

I love this first shot, because her perfume is also her new last name… :)
They even humored me a bit…awesome!

Kerry + Kenny’s Wedding Day

The last weekend in October, I made my way out to Ft. Scott for the wedding of Kerry and Kenny.  These two are SO in love — and were just so excited that their special day was here!  They had a First Moment in the church so we could go around and take location photos, and it was certainly special.  The weather was amazing, and everything went so smooth and wonderful.  Their reception was at a beautiful little cabin in the country, with the most amazing field of wheat-like-grass that I was in heaven!  I had a wonderful time, and both families treated me like I was one of their own.  Thanks you two for being such incredible people, and I hope you are having a wonderful time in Belize!  BLOG SHOW!

I love this shot of the two kids who were playing outside, and then noticed the couple was having their first dance.  Not wanting to leave the fun outside, or come inside, they found a comprimise! :)

Kerri + Doug | Wedding Day

On a beautiful October day (10/18 to be exact), I drove out to St. Joe, MO for the wedding of Kerri and Doug.  I knew it would be a great day — since their engagement session was so relaxed and fun!  The details were beautiful, and the bride even MORE so.  Her  bridesmaids kept calling her the perfect “Barbie” bride!!  The group was a lot of fun, and we traveled to City Hall in between the ceremony and reception for some FUN images (like the one I already posted here – a new fave of the year).  I loved Kerri’s flowers, and the reception was a ROCKIN’ party!  This is a BLOG SHOW that should not be missed, set to their first dance.  You have to see Doug’s moment with Kerri’s veil — priceless!  Enjoy everyone!
