Griffin B | Newborn Session

Filed under: Families, Little OnesApril 30th, 2010

It seem like just a little while ago, I was photographing Allison and Tanner’s wedding in Lawrence…and now they have welcomed a beautiful baby boy into their family!  I love these two, and was thrilled when they contacted me for newborn images.

If you follow me on Twitter/Facebook, you know that lately I have had a small obsession with crochet (Dave asks “How old ARE you anyways?” whenever I pick it up).  Well after putting together a few pieces, Griffin was my very first model!  I made a baby cocoon and a couple of hats — one of which I gave to Griffin to keep since it fit him like a glove!

Riley S. | 8-Month Session

Filed under: Families, Little OnesApril 28th, 2010

There are just some days that you want to do this:
rpeters_rileys8mo_001And for little Riley, the day of her session was one of those days… :)  She is now 8-months old, and this is typically the time that little ones have the “stranger-danger” emotions come around.  So I was pretty darn scary to her!  But with a little help from Mom holding her and being very close, Dad dancing around to distract her, and me hiding behind my camera so she would not see me…we captured some happy-girl faces!

Cassi + Clint | E-Session

It makes a session that much better, when we can include a location that is special to a couple.  When Cassi suggested we have their session out on her families land — I was all for it!  It was a Sunday, and just like weekly tradition the house was buzzing with family and friends.  A ton of open land, old barns, and a bridge older than anyone knew…it was a photographer’s dream!  Not to mention when I walked by one shed, I happen to see a blue vintage truck that HAD to be a part of the shoot…
In the slideshow you will see we had a teeny-tiny audience with a member of the animal kingdom — so he had to be included!

I love this shot — because this is something they do all the time.  Rumor has it the “tongue fight” has led to some head-banging, since it is a competition who can do it first!rpeters_cassiclint_006

Michael | Senior Session

I met Michael three years ago — when he was tagging along at his sister’s Senior session.  Imagine my surprise when I heard from Mom to say that it was his turn!  How could that be possible already!?  He knew he wanted the downtown-look for his session, so we made our way down to the West Bottoms.  Just a couple of outfits, + sister and Mom in tow, Michael was a blast to photograph.  Laid back and relaxed we walked around and got some great shots.  Have fun at K-State next year!

Enjoy the slideshow here — set to the same song his sister selected 3 years ago!

Trey | 1-Year Session

Filed under: Families, Little OnesApril 26th, 2010

I was so happy to be able to take Trey outdoors for his last session from the Baby’s First Year program…and he was all about exploring the green grass, some leaves, and anything else within’ reach!  It was so fun to watch his curious eyes look all around.  Let’s take a look back at Trey’s previous session — they just change so quickly!  And there is one image in the slideshow that shows a little “attitude” and I just love it…happy Monday everyone! :)
